The right white
Think all white paint is just plain white? Wrong. We explain why choosing white paint isn't so, well, black and white

White reflects light more than any other colour, so the surface you choose will largely affect how it looks. Glossy whites often work in crisp modern spaces or on trim. Satin or flat finishes are softer, but be sure to select one that's washable – any grime or scuffs will be very visible in a dirty white room. And white walls amplify surface texture, so take the time to smooth out bumps and fill in cracks or holes before you paint.
