Hayluv jewellery I'm a low-maintenance girl when it comes to baubles and bijoux. So when I was introduced to Hayluv, the jewellery company started by Canadian gals Amy Polevoy and Hayley Schwartz, I was instantly smitten with their simple but stunning designs. The line is already popular with celebs like Molly Sims, and has been featured in countless magazines from US Weekly to Hello. Each piece has a sterling silver or 14-karat gold-filled chain, and you can choose from a range of semi precious stones like hematite, goldstone, crystal, onyx or smoky topaz and its all held together with a cute heart-shaped clasp. Whether you choose one of their simple short-chained designs with an egg crystal(I wear mine daily)or layer on a few of their super-long pieces(I'm loving my black onyx)for a more dramatic effect, there's something for every budget and taste. Prices start at $100, Hayluv is sold in boutiques across Canada and the U.S., or online at hayluv.com

Tamara Mabley jewellery If you're a jewellery-lover on a budget like myself, it's time to meet your newest crush: Nova Scotia-based jeweller and artist Tamara Mabley. Specializing in ready-to-wear jewellery and bridal gifts, Mabley uses sterling silver, 14k gold fill, brass, copper and semi-precious stones to create gorgeous, unique pieces. She often combines her own lampwork(a method using a torch to melt and shape glass)and porcelain designs, so each piece is truly one-of-a-kind. For a personal touch, Mabley will work with you to design something special or modernize an old piece to your taste. Personally, I've got my eye on her Trio of Leaves Choker(in case my boyfriend is reading this)...
