Chad VanGaalen
The electro-folk-rocker got his start busking the streets of his native Calgary. His basement served as a recording studio for his first LPs and the buzz quickly spread. VanGaalen's latest – Soft Airplane – was nominated for Alternative Album of the Year at the 2009 Junos. When he's not a one-man show playing several instruments at once, VanGaalen channels his talent as an accomplished illustrator and animator.
